As i enjoy the photography element towards portraiture i was focusing on some pieces of photography other that materialised pieces. In the sketch book I have worked with computers digitally editing the work in Photoshop, de-saturating and adjusting brightness and contrast and created some Caravaggio emulations that in clued his harsh lighting. However this was set in a dark room with a series of practice shots to then develop towards my final piece..
And because of many photographers and artists throughout the eras of development in art, there are such people as Bill Brant, a photographer that I admire for this because of the use of his harsh body scaped figures contrasting with natural textures i.e. pebbles, rocks and soil. Caravaggio, a late 15th century that produced stunning portraits of Greek mythology and Jesus Christ and Andy Warhol that have their own unique style to present a portrait.
